Shaken by the brazen manner with which a prominent father and Vice Chairman of Obele Council of Chiefs was murdered on Saturday,July 19,2025 while presiding over a family meeting in a Compound Hall, the Administrator of Emohua Local Government Area, Comrade Barr Franklin Ajinwo has re-inaugurated the Emohua Vigilante Services (EMOVIS) and charged the operatives to assist the security agencies in the area in the task of crime fighting through early identification of probable trouble spots and sharing of vital information in time for necessary actions.

He said they had the authority to arrest suspects and criminals, but must hand over same to the police for investigation and possibly prosecution, in order to avoid possible witch-hunting and vendetta.

Comrade Ajinwo acknowledged the hardwork being carried out in the course of maintaining law and order within the local government area.

The operatives of EMOVIS are indigenes of the communities in the LGA and so are expected to know criminals, crime-minded persons and hideouts in their respective communities.

Retired Commissioner of Police, Mr. Peter Wagbara, and Assor Johnson Ordu, Co-ordinator and Administrative Secretary of EMOVIS respectively, commended the LGA Administrator for re-launching the security outfit and assured him of closer control and effectiveness in their operations, without political interference.

Earlier on Monday, July 21, 2025 the Administrator, Comrade Franklin Ajinwo, accompanied by security chiefs in the area and management staff of council, paid an on-the-scene of crime visit to Obele, where Chief Ferdinand Dabiri was murdered.

He recounted how the slain chief had pleaded with him (Ajinwo) to get the council to site some development projects in Obele, because “peace had returned.”

Sources, who are among indigenes that fled the community, claimed that the assailant of Chief Dabiri was one Onyinyechi Nyenke Alechi aka Cairo, who reportedly shot at him point blank during the meeting.

Therefrom, the Administrator charged the security agencies to fish out the said Cairo and his accomplices within the shortest possible time for arrest and prosecution to forestall future occurrences.

In line with his desire to achieve very low crime rate in the LGA, Comrade Ajinwo has paid a welcome visit to Ohna Chidi Sergeant Awuse, the Paramount Ruler of Emohua Kingdom and the Chairman of the South -South Traditional Rulers Council,in country home in Emohua on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

The EMOLGA Administrator congratulated the monarch on his recent experience as the chairman of Traditional Rulers in the zone and appealed to him to prevail on his members of the EMOLGA Traditional Rulers Council to facilitate peace in their domains and thus encourage government to site development projects and boost the advancement of the LGA..

Responding, Ohna Sergeant Awuse expressed appreciation for the honour accorded him by the Administrator and his team, adding that “I just returned from a medical trip and have confirmed that the good reports I was hearing about you are factual,so keep up the good work and help make Emohua LGA a friendlier place for all stakeholders”.

The monarch assured Comrade Ajinwo that the royal fathers also desire development and so they would work with the council towards the realization of set objectives.
