June 18, 2026 will always be remembered by members of the South South Youth Peace Mission as the day the wife of the NDDC boss, Dr Mrs. Amaba Sam Ogbuku, reaffirmed her commitment to projects and programmes that will directly affect the lives of youths in the region.

Dr Mrs. Amaba Sam Ogbuku gave the assurance in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, during an executive meeting of leaders from the six states in the region — Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers.

Mrs. Sam Ogbuku, who is also Ambassador of Peace and general matron of the organisation nationwide, advised members of the South South Youth Peace Mission to always show a high sense of discipline in the discharge of their duties as peacemakers in society.

She added that good character, manner of approach and good community relations, in line with the aims and objectives and mission of the South South Youth Peace Mission, open more doors for rapid development, skill training and business empowerment.

She stated that on no account should any member of the South South Youth Peace Mission be involved in cultism, drug activities or taking the law into their own hands; rather they should engage in skillful and academic programmes that require sponsorship to improve the living standards of all members.

In an interactive session at the meeting, the award national coordinator and personal assistant to the national president on media and publicity, South South Youth Peace Mission, Amb. Wari-Senibo Mac Jerry Dappa, presented a proposal on an academic sponsorship programme for 15 students with the Institute of Journalism Management and Continuing Education, validated by Enugu State University, who could not afford their school fees due to the Nigerian economy that subjected people to untold hardship in Rivers State.

Responding to the request for Rivers State students in higher institutions who are members of the South South Youth Peace Mission, the general matron of the organisation, Amb. Mrs. Amaba Sam Ogbuku, instantly approved sponsorship and scholarships for OND, HND, BSc, PGD and master’s degrees, covering payment and exemption from school fees up to the collection of certificates.

Mrs. Sam Ogbuku instructed Amb. Jerry Dappa, who is also the school coordinator in charge of correspondence studies for Rivers State, Calabar and Bayelsa, to submit the scholarship award proposal to her office for immediate action.

She further instructed other state representatives to submit names of their members for sponsorship of skill-acquisition training, including catering, soap making, tailoring, paint production, welding, cosmetics, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, automobile, computer training and many others.

Earlier in his speech, the national president of the South South Youth Peace Mission and the founder of the organisation, Amb. Ebinie Makera Mighty, expressed delight over the motherly conduct of Mrs. Sam Ogbuku towards members of the South South Youth Peace Mission from the six states.

He stated that since her inception as the general mother and matron of the body, her immense contributions towards the rapid development of the organisation, including its secretariat in Bayelsa State, cannot be overemphasised. He described Mrs. Sam Ogbuku’s lifestyle as a shining example of love for humanity and divine service through her visionary leadership, which has lifted countless lives from grass to grace, given hope to the hopeless, and provided direction for the poor.

He added that Amb. Mrs. Sam Ogbuku has not only built people’s lives but also built communities and destinies. Amb. Ebinie Makera Mighty thanked the madam for instantly approving the scholarship award for 15 members of the South South Youth Peace Mission in Rivers State who are students at the Institute of Journalism Management and Continuing Education, validated by the Enugu State University of Science and Technology.

According to the national president, a few months ago textbooks and writing materials were donated to various schools in Rivers State and Bayelsa State. He prayed that God would bless Mrs. Sam Ogbuku for accepting to embark on the building project of the South South Youth Peace Mission national secretariat headquarters in Bayelsa and for intending to fully equip it.

On behalf of the national executive and board of trustees of the South South Youth Peace Mission, the national president congratulated the husband of the South South Youth Peace Mission matron and general mother over the coronation of the NDDC boss, Chief Dr Samuel Ogbuku, as His Royal Highness the Daufa VI, paramount ruler of Ayakoro Community in Ogbia Local Government of Bayelsa State.

The national president further assured the royal highness and his wife of the organisation’s determination to work as a team with their administration to achieve success at the grassroots level. He added that they are optimistic their administration will be the best to reckon with in the history of the local government and prayed God to descend his glorious mercies, guidance and protection, and to purvey him with the wisdom and strength to pilot the affairs of his office.
