Former agitators in the Niger Delta, under the aegis of Third Phase Ex-Agitators, have joined stakeholders in the region and Nigeria in general to commend the Presidential Amnesty Programme coordinator, Dr Dennis Otuaro, “for his sterling qualities, purposeful leadership and dexterity he has applied in piloting the affairs of the PAP since he assumed office.”

While speaking to journalists in Port Harcourt at the weekend, through the National Treasurer of the Third Phase of ex-Agitators of the presidential Amnesty Program, general Occasion Boy, they urged him to “remain focused and shun every untoward distractions from disgruntled elements.

“Being the first time, a coordinator who believes in wide consultation and collaboration with stakeholders is appointed from the Niger Delta struggles, he is well primed to pursue vigorously the presidential Amnesty Program and deserves the support and cooperation from the ex-Agitators, l warn against ill-advised attempts by some characters to pull him down”

The National Working Committee under the leadership of general Elaye Slaboh, namely; general Occasion Boy, general Davidson Richman, general Princewill Kotingo, Leader Ebi John, general Vicas Ebiama, general X-Dog, general Whoknows Tomorrow, and other stakeholders of the Third Phase Ex-Agitators of Presidential Amnesty Programme, said the policies and pragmatism that the PAP coordinator, Dr Dennis Otuaro has introduced meant well for the programme and should be sustained for the over all benefits and peaceful coexistence in the region.

They listed some of the legacies that Dr Otuaro will be remembered for include regular payment (monthly stipends of #65,000) of the 30,000 delegates and whenever there were delays, he usually appealed and gave reasons, thereby pacifying ex-agitators from unnecessary panic and agitation that hitherto would have led to protests during previous administrations, repositioning of PAP among others.

Other areas where Dr Otuaro has carved a niche for himself, they said, include sustained payment of scholarship to students under the Presidential Amnesty Programme and inclusion of more beneficiaries, his constant interface and interaction with stakeholders and other corporate and individuals that have the interest of peace and development of the Niger Delta.

The ex-agitators also warned “detractors and fifth columnists to desist from their entrenched and age long antics of pull-him -down and false publications calling for removal and allow him pursue the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Tinubu led administration.

“What the PAP coordinator, Dr Dennis Otuaro, needs now is wise counsel and constructive criticisms aimed at creating peace and development, not to tarnish his hard earned reputation of integrity, transparent, accountability and probity”

They called on all and sundry to remain resolute and pray for the current PAP coordinator to succeed in his onerous task of midwifying the program to it’s desired destination for the betterment of the region and the nation.
