{"id":10579,"date":"2023-11-13T17:08:03","date_gmt":"2023-11-13T17:08:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/phmundial.com\/?p=10579"},"modified":"2023-11-13T17:08:03","modified_gmt":"2023-11-13T17:08:03","slug":"bayelsa-diri-wins-re-election-with-175196-votes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deepstrataenergy.com\/phmundial\/2023\/11\/13\/bayelsa-diri-wins-re-election-with-175196-votes\/","title":{"rendered":"Bayelsa: Diri Wins Re-Election with 175,196 Votes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>By Emma Ovundah<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incumbent governor of Bayelsa State, and governorship candidate of the People&#8217;s Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Douye Diri has been declared winner of the just concluded November 11 governorship election in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Returning Officer for the Bayelsa State governorship election, Prof. Kuta Farouk, made the declaration on Monday evening at the INEC headquarters in Yenagoa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our correspondent reports that Douye Diri, who contested the November 11, 2023 election against 16 other candidates, won 6 out of 8 local government areas of the state with 175,196 votes to defeat his closest rival, Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who got 110,108 votes, while Labour Party&#8217;s Udengs Eradiri came third with 905 votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prof Farouk said, \u201cDiri Douye of PDP, having certified by the law, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bayelsa State has 8 local government areas, which include; Brass, Ekeremor, Nembe, Ogbia, Kolukuma\/Opokuma, Sagbama, Southern Ijaw and Yenagoa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The results, as declared, showed:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Total Registered Voters = 1,56,862,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Accredited Voters = 37,2000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Political Parties scored as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Accord = 17,&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AA = 11<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ADC = 292,&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ADP = 322,&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">APC = 110,108,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">APGA = 70,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">APM = 26,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">APP = 14,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BP = 26,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LP = 905,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NNPP = 17,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NRM = 415,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PDP = 175,196,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PRP = 69,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ADP = 45,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ZLP = 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TOTAL VALID VOTES =287,554<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">VOTES REJECTED = 3658<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Emma Ovundah The incumbent governor of Bayelsa State, and governorship candidate of the People&#8217;s Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Douye Diri has been declared winner of the just concluded November 11 governorship election in the state.
